Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Summary

For day three of our Acclimate journey toward Passion 2025, the word we’re focusing on is “forgiven.”

The beauty of the Gospel is that though we were slaves to sin and destined for eternal separation from God, He sent His Son, Jesus, who knew no sin, to take our place, die on the cross, and rise again to life on the third day. Now we are forgiven and free—our debt has been paid. Nothing we could ever do will make us deserve this forgiveness. This gift was given to us only through Jesus's sacrifice; all we have to do is receive it.

You have been forgiven. Let that sink in. No matter what you've done, if you are in Christ, God sees the righteousness of his son Jesus when He looks at you.

So, as we step into Passion 2025, don't let the enemy try to tell you who you are by reminding you of what you've done wrong. Remember who you are. You are a son or a daughter of the most high God. Your sins have been washed away. When we step into that true identity, we begin to bear fruit of love, compassion, kindness, and joy, and as we understand that we have been so greatly forgiven, we will find it easier to forgive others.

Prayer:

God, thank You so much for sending Your Son to take on our sin and shame, leading us to be forgiven, free, loved, and chosen. We are amazed by You. We love You and are grateful for what You will do as we step into Passion 2025. So come and have Your way. Remind us of who we are. Help us to forgive those who have wronged us because You have forgiven us forever. We love You. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
