About This Study
The Christian life is full of trademarks. We offer up expressions like “bless your heart,” “they are in a better place,” and “everything happens for a reason,” often with little thought as to why we might have chosen those words.
The same can be true in our use of scripture. Common quoted and promoted verses remind us that God has a plan, that we can do all things through Christ, and that everything is working for good, but while the messages can be everywhere, their true meaning may still be lost.
What does it mean that God has a plan?
Can I really do all things?
Will He give me what my heart desires?
Will everything in my life work out for good?
In Break in Case of Emergency, Heath Hatmaker uncovers how popular scriptures are not empty platitudes to memorize outside of context but promises we can cling to in light of it. As we dig into “Hall of Fame” verses together, we will unmask a richer understanding of scriptural truth, and its application to our walk with Jesus today.
