8.Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
2.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
23.On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24.When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. 25.You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:
“ ‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?26.The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.4:26 That is, Messiah or Christ’4:26 Psalm 2:1,227.Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28.They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29.Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30.Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”31.After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
19.But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20.As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
19.Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,
20.Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.
9.For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,1:9 Or all spiritual wisdom and understanding 10.so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11.being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12.and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you1:12 Some manuscripts us to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13.For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14.in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
