Brad Jones reminds us of the importance of being in the infallible Word of God and trusting it above all else as we continue in our collection, CERTAINTY.

Key Takeaway

With all the voices and options competing for our attention, it's hard to land on who is saying the true and right thing. The Word of God is both of those and is the only voice that you can trust as certain.

We walk through life with so many inputs, voices, and opinions.

The Word of God is the voice of certainty. It's amazing that we have an entire book of God speaking to us. He reveals to us His heart and His character and has made a way for us to have a relationship with Him. See Hebrews 1:1-3

2 Timothy 3:15-17, His word will make you wise. It's God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training so that we will be well-equipped through His Word to complete every good work He has for us.

Psalm 19:7-9:

  1.  The Word is refreshing. (verse 7)
  2. The statutes are trustworthy. It's a plumb line.
    • We are finite and not trustworthy; God knows everything, and He is the Authority and standard.
    • How is the Bible trustworthy?
    • Internal Consistency
    • 66 books
    • over 40 authors
    • written over 1500 yrs
    • Same God, same plan for Creation, same problem of sin, same plan of salvation, same hope, same future
    • Historical Accuracy
    • 1,000's of reliable manuscripts
    • fulfilled prophecy, over 300 have already come to pass
    • eyewitnesses

  3. God's Word brings joy to our hearts. (verse 8)
  4. God's Word will light the darkness. (verse 8)
  5. God's Word will endure forever. (verse 9)
