400 years. That’s how long the people of God waited to hear from Him before that deafening silence was broken with a baby’s cry. And yet, even while the people of God waited, they held on to a fundamental truth. God is working while you wait. Here’s the good news: He’s still doing it. He’s still at work in your life, no matter how long you’ve been waiting for a miracle. Cling to Him today and believe.

Scripture References

5.In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6.Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. 7.But they were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old.8.Once when Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, 9.he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 10.And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.11.Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12.When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13.But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. 14.He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15.for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. 16.He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. 17.And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”18.Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”
28.Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.29.He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.30.Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;31.but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
23.“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”1:23 Isaiah 7:14 (which means “God with us”).
1.Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;2.Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.3.If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?4.But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.5.I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
1.Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!2.As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you!3.For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.4.Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
