Prayer for Our Nation

Ben Stuart
November 1, 2020

Join Ben Stuart and our Passion City Church DC team as we pray for our nation’s leaders and all the people they represent.

1 Timothy 2:1-3, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Scripture References

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,
2to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
15By me kings reign

and rulers issue decrees that are just;

16by me princes govern,

and nobles—all who rule on earth.

28Love and faithfulness keep a king safe;

through love his throne is made secure.

1I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
