How do we reconcile the Law with the grace and kindness of God?
In this talk, Ben Stuart talks about the pull of works, the power of God’s promise, and the purpose of the Law.
Key Takeaway
The law is a signpost to lead you to Christ, not a supplement to add to Christ.
- The pull of works. There is nothing you can do to be deserving of God's grace. The law doesn't justify sin—faith in Jesus does.
- The power of God's promise. Believe that God can do what He says He can do. How do we get the blessings of God? By faith in a God who's working His means of rescue.
- The purposes of the law. The law was a signpost leading to Christ. It's used to show you that the law is impossible to keep in order for you to fall on your knees and ask for mercy.
“
"Grace is an extraordinary gift from an unobligated giver to undeserving people and it produces incredible joy. And that's the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ—the grace of God."
