Flying Into Truth

Key Takeaway

By setting your eyes on The Cross you can endure any storm. It doesn’t matter how far you fell, Jesus superseded it all with his mercy and took our sins away from us. Through Jesus, we all have access to the Father. So, remain focused on The Cross to draw near to Him.

When we cannot see or feel our path forward, the only thing that will help us make a comeback is fixing our eyes on the cross of Christ.

Through the details of Jesus’ crucifixion in Mark 15, we see how the cross is looming in history and it's looming in whatever circumstance you find yourself in today.

In the middle of your divorce, the abandonment, the abuse, the pain, the death, the diagnosis, the darkness, and the collapse of whatever the enemy has brought your way— there stands a Cross.

In the middle of the fog, the cross of Christ declares several key truths:

The cross of Christ declares several key truths:

1. God is still there. Even when Jesus felt forsaken, God was at work fulfilling His plan.

2. God still loves us. Romans 5:8 proves God’s love in the clearest way—Christ died for us while we were still sinners.

3. God understands our pain. No one may fully understand what we’re going through, but Jesus suffered, so He truly knows.

4. God can bring good from evil. The cross shows how God can transform the worst day into the best day.

5. God gives us permission to be honest. Like Jesus on the cross, we can express our pain and endure with honesty rather than fake positivity.

Hebrews 12:2

“ God isn't asking you to be a superhero in a comic book called The Comeback. He knows that you're breathing on thin ice right now, but he also knows that he's not gonna let you drown, and he wants you to know that it's okay to be weak. As long as you're looking at something that reminds you that he is greater.”

6. Men make decisions but God writes history.

Maybe for you, the comeback you are believing in is on the other end of decisions you made. As you reflect on the Cross, and its heroic beauty history, you may think “but not in my case.”

But here’s the turning point for you today: it doesn't matter what you've done, how far you've gone, or how regretful your choices were. Jesus superseded it all in His amazing kindness, mercy, and grace. Scripture tells us in Psalm 103:12– “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

Lift your eyes from your failure, your guilt, your shame, and the relentless reruns the enemy is playing of your past, and look to the grace found only in the cross of Christ

It is possible for you to have peace with God, today.

“He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.”  Ephesians 2:17-18

In the middle of life’s wreckage—divorce, illness, abandonment, loss—the cross stands as a real anchor of hope. Jesus is present, He loves you, He understands you, He can redeem this, and He holds the pen of your story.

“When you can’t see or feel through the fog you have to fly into the truth.”
