On the final night of Summer in the City, Louie illuminates what it looks like to live apart from the world and boasts in nothing but the cross through persecution and new life.

Scripture References

10
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
21To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
22“He committed no sin,

and no deceit was found in his mouth.”

23When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
24“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
25For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
12Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.
13Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh.
14May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
