When You Get Back

Brad Jones
October, 25, 2015

In this talk, Brad Jones addresses Peter’s comeback story and what that means for our comeback stories. He describes how God’s grace covers our mistakes and failures and that’s the greatest comeback of all.

Key Takeaway

God uses our comeback story to glorify what He has done. Even when we can’t overcome –He can. He uses our stories to help others make it back. We are called to tell our stories for these reasons and to build his church of comeback people.

1.    From Paul’s comeback story we can learn…

  • We need to cultivate God-confidence and forget self-confidence.
    • I can’t but He can.

  • We need to learn how to walk in forgiveness.
    • In receiving and extending forgiveness.
    • Like Peter, we too can be forgiven no matter the sin. God’s grace is enough.
    • Unwilling to forgive someone can stand in the way of our comeback.

  • We need to tell our story.
    • God uses us because of our comebacks to help others make it through their comebacks.
    • Luke 22
“We are a community of comeback people, that is what the church is.”
