How Great is Our God

03.27.2007

41M

The God who spoke the universe into existence made you, too, and He knows everything about you. From the smallest molecule to the situation you find yourself in right now, He’s aware of your circumstance and intimately acquainted with everything you do. And He cares about you and promises to carry you through. That’s where we find hope in the midst of the darkest places in life.

The journey is often complicated and painful, filled with confusion and chaos. Yet, the cross of Christ reveals God’s promise to preserve and restore you no matter the circumstance. He will hold onto you and hold you together, giving strength to those who hope in His unfailing love. He is the everlasting God!

Key Takeaway

Your life is a miracle, and the Creator of the universe knows you by name. He's big enough to breathe out stars yet intricate enough to fashion together the trillions of cells that make up every facet of who you are.

1.) We are small, weak, fragile, and frail living on this golf ball-sized planet living in this massive universe that God has made.

2.) We are all miracles. We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

  • Psalm 139:14

3.) If we trust in Him, He will hold us in His hand and carry us all the days of our lives.

  • We will never not be carried by the everlasting God.

4.) He may be a universe-maker and a heart-former, but that doesn't stop Him from being intimately acquainted with us.

  • Psalm 33:13-15
  • Psalm 33:18-19

5.) God holds all things together.

  • As we look at the protein molecule laminin, we see how this protein is literally the glue that keeps our bodies together.
  • Colossians 1:16-17, 19-20
  • There are microscopic crosses holding us together, and one giant, glorious cross of Jesus Christ is holding all of us.

6.) God sees what we're going through and sees the anguish we're experiencing.

  • Isaiah 40:28-31
  • We may not understand what we're going through, but we are called to not give up on Him, and to trust that He has a plan for us.
  • God doesn't always change the circumstances, but God always has a purpose in the circumstances, and His purpose and plan will prevail.

7.) The promise is greater than rosy circumstances; it's the renewal of our strength.

  • When we think we can't take one more breath, God will give us enough to keep going.

Quote
