Key Takeaway
You are able in this life through the power of Christ’s resurrection. In Christ’s power, you can reject earthly labels and trust Him to define who you are and what you can do. You are called to tap into Christ’s power to fulfill your purpose.
What do you allow to define you in this life? The truth is, the only one who has the right to label us is the One who created us. Earthly labels hold no weight in the kingdom of Christ. Instead, Scripture reminds us that we have been chosen by Him. In Ephesians 1, Paul prays that we would grasp the hope to which He has called us, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for those who believe. Our identity is not earned by performance but secured by our position in Christ.
And in that position, God labels us with this truth: “You are able.” We cannot rely on our own opinions or the world’s assessments to tell us who we are. We must turn to God’s Word, which declares that we are able because we are linked to the Almighty God Himself.
When we begin to live in that reality, we discover that our deficits can actually become our greatest strengths. As Ephesians 1:7 and other passages remind us, His grace is sufficient for us. In weakness, we are pushed to depend even more on the Lord’s power. And His power is always connected to our purpose—equipping us to do what He has called us to do.
