A Liturgy to Reflect on the Cross

Jesus, Son of Man,

who knew the weight of wood and the sting of nails,

who bore the scorn and the silence,

who drank the bitter cup:

See me now, as I sit and remember,

as I trace the path of your suffering,

as I stand in the shadow of your cross.

Jesus, Lord of Life,

who felt the crushing weight of my sin,

who carried my burden and my brokenness,

who descended into darkness that I might walk in light:

Know me now,

as I confront my own failings,

as my darkness is overcome by your light,

as I seek forgiveness, hope, and redemption.

When I doubt, may I remember your unwavering love.

When I am afraid, may I remember your sacrifice.

When I despair, may I remember your promise of resurrection.

Oh Jesus, King of Glory,

who conquered death and shattered the chains of sin,

who rose victorious from the tomb,

who opened the gates of eternal life:

Remind me now, that your suffering was not in vain,

that your death brought me life, that your resurrection offers me hope.

May my heart be filled with gratitude for your boundless love.

May my voice proclaim your triumph over death.

May my life reflect the new life you offer to those who most need it.

Jesus, risen Savior, your victory is my victory, your hope is my hope, your love is my salvation.

When I am tempted to cling to earthly comforts, remind me of your selfless sacrifice.

When I weep in the face of suffering, remind me of your glorious resurrection.

When I am tempted to doubt your love, remind me of the cross.

May I carry the light of your resurrection into the world, sharing the good news of your love and grace.

May my gratitude be a beacon, my hope a shield, my faith a testament to your enduring love.

May my life reflect the glory of your resurrection.

Amen.
