Camilo Buchanan defines idolatry as a thing, person, or idea you put your functional trust in. Idols come from a lack of trust in God based on what we see or don’t see—what we see makes us doubt what we’ve heard. As we identify what idols we have in our own lives and how they have appeared before us, we learn to destroy them by surrendering our lives to God and trusting that His way is better.
