Jesus’ decisive victory against the enemy has freed us up for the fight against sin in our lives. So how can we struggle well?

Because of what Jesus has done, we are able to be victors instead of victims. But first, we have to shift our perspective on how to struggle against temptation. What does it look like for the followers of Jesus to have our beliefs shape our behaviors instead of chasing after the temptations and desires of the world?

Scripture References

14but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.
15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
16Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.
17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
41
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
8The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
22Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
