Salt + Light

September 11, 2022

Sharing from Matthew 5:13-16, Grant Partrick reiterates that we are here to be a preservative to the goodness that was modeled by Jesus and reflectors of the marvelous light of God. So, we seek reconciliation, not retaliation. We resist greed through generosity. And finally, we submit to authority rather than rebelling against it.

Key Takeaway

We are called to be the light of the world and the salt of the Earth to show people the glory of God through us.

  1. Seek reconciliation, not retaliation. Be quick to forgive, because we have been forgiven freely, and love your enemy by praying for them.
  2. Resist the pull toward greed by embracing generosity. When we know we have everything in Christ, we won't pull for everything else to satisfy us.
  3. We submit to the authority of Christ, rather than rebel against it.
"We live and we shine our reflected light so that the world will see us, and see through us, to our Father who's in heaven."
